Padel Rules Overview

1. **Scoring**: Padel is typically played in doubles, and the scoring system is similar to tennis. The game consists of sets, and each set is played to six games. A team must win by a margin of two games, with a tiebreaker at 6-6. In the tiebreaker, the first team to score 7 points with a 2-point margin wins the set.

2. **Serving**: The serve is underhand, and it must be hit diagonally to the opposite service box, similar to tennis. The ball must bounce before it's hit by the receiver. Unlike tennis, in Padel, you get only one serve attempt. If the serve touches the net and lands in the service box, it's a "let" and you get a second serve.

3. **Faults on the Serve**: Common faults on the serve include stepping on or over the service line, serving out of turn, and serving out of the designated area. If a fault is committed, the opposing team gains a point.

4. **Double Bounce Rule**: After the serve, there must be at least one bounce on each side of the net before volleys (hitting the ball in the air) are allowed. This is often referred to as the "double bounce" rule.

5. **Scoring Points**: Points are scored as follows:

- Love (0 points)

- 15 (1 point)

- 30 (2 points)

- 40 (3 points)

6. **Deuce**: When the score is 40-40, it's called "deuce." The team that scores the next point has "advantage," and if they score the following point, they win the game. If the other team scores, the score returns to deuce until one team wins by a margin of two points.

7. **No-Volley Zone**: There is a "no-volley zone" (commonly called the "kitchen") near the net. Players cannot hit the ball in the air (volley) when they are inside this zone. They must wait for the ball to bounce before hitting it.

8. **Foot Faults**: Players cannot step into the no-volley zone (kitchen) while hitting a volley, and their foot must not touch the baseline during the serve.

9. **Court Boundaries**: The ball must land within the court's boundaries for it to be in play. If the ball touches any part of the court's boundary lines, it is considered in.

10. **Let Rule**: If the ball touches the net and lands in the correct service box during a point, it's a "let." The point is replayed.

11. **Ball Out of the Court**: If the ball goes out of the court, it's considered out. If it hits the surrounding fence, it's still in play.

12. **Interference**: If a player feels they were hindered by their opponent during a point, they can call a "let" and replay the point.

13. **Change of Ends**: Players switch sides of the court after the first, third, and every subsequent odd game of the set.

These are some of the fundamental rules of Padel. The game is known for its fast-paced, exciting rallies and emphasizes strategy and teamwork. Padel is accessible for players of various skill levels, making it an enjoyable sport for both beginners and experienced players. It's important to thoroughly understand and follow these rules to ensure fair and enjoyable gameplay.
